What can you say about a once in a lifetime pony? Olympia was purchased in The Netherlands from Martie van Bosche and his lovely family in 1999. Olympia, barn name Mira, was shipped over in June of 2000 with another lovely mare owned by us named Nordy and a coming two year old named Udine who was purchased and is owned by Susan Cargill.
Vivian drove Mira and Nordy as a pair for several years but due to her mother's poor health the winter of 2004 Vivian only took Mira south for training as this allowed her more flexibility to visit her mom 3 hours south of Black Prong the training facility that Vivian winters at. That year Mira won the Advanced Single Pony marathon at Live Oak beating the current World Champion as well as the standing National Champion and past National Champions in a large class of single ponies. Mira had clearly found her niche. She has so much heart and is so competitive that Vivian has never found a pony equal to her speed in the hazards. She can go from zero to warp speed in a tight technical hazard and has such wonderful balance and sense of her body in relation to direction, speed and turn that she just amazes everyone who sees her. Since 2004 she has gone on to win many marathons at the most prestigious events on the east coast. As well as being the first Norwegian Fjord to win overall a CAI/FEI event in North America. Is she perfect? Well of course not, her dressage will always need work and she needs 2 hours of warm up before cones on Sunday to switch gears from the marathon on Saturday to the obedience necesssary in advanced cones. However this same speedy little gem can also give a novice a wonderful driving or riding lesson on the farm easily transitioning from sport horse to generous schoolmaster. It is Rainbow's End Farm's mission to create ponies with equal heart, spirit and obedience. For pedigree please click on link: www.nfhr.com/ponyweb/ponyweb.cgi |
